3. Mock interviews and Personalized guidance from Mentors

We are happy to share that our learners are actively reaching out to our mentors on Truehike for personalized guidance and interview support requirements. To further streamline the process of booking these calls, we have redefined the options under Purpose of this booking so that it helps the mentor and PL team to know the clear agenda of the call and align the necessary support towards it. The categories are-

  • Interview Case Study Discussion- Guidance on the case study received from the Recruiter company as a part of the interview process
  • Job Offer Discussion- Seeking guidance from a mentor on the job offer received
  • No Shortlist Guidance- Despite applying for more than 20-25 jobs, if the learner is not able to get a shortlist, he/she is required to seek guidance from his/her cohort mentor to re-work on the alignment of his resume/portfolio in order to accelerate the process of shortlist. It is necessary that you come prepared with the list of companies applied, feedback and self efforts before the session or create a log and share along with a meeting invite.
  • Interview Round Guidance- To seek advice for any immediate interview lined up, no company,  preparing answers for frequently asked questions and any areas where you wish to focus for a particular interview
  • Practice Mock Session- To practice mock interviews with industry specific mentors and build confidence
  • Interview Mock Discussion- Schedule this session with a mentor to practice a mock for the interview that you have got a shortlist for.  It is necessary to specify the company name and JD of the profile here beforehand to the mentor

Industry/Sector Guidance- To seek guidance on the industry or sector you are aiming for and would like to understand the sector opportunities, type of roles, packages, your alignment to particular industry.

Following are a few tips to be kept in mind while booking the sessions-

  • Ensure your True merit Profile is updated.
  • You should seek guidance from the mentor with a broad industry view and about how to position yourself in a particular company/industry.
  • Do not book calls with multiple mentors for the same opportunity or objective of guidance. This will lead to confusion arising from diverse opinions of multiple mentors and will further make it difficult for you to decide on the best approach towards the problem/interview at hand.
  • It is important that you share your updated CV which is approved under the Workflow with the mentor you are seeking guidance from so that he/she can guide you better.
  • Set up periodic milestones for yourself to achieve.Work on the assignments and guidance shared by the mentor over the call and share the update with the specific mentor marking copy to success@
  • Start working backwards by creating tasks in order to achieve those milestones.
  • Develop a timeline and stick to it.
  • Share your feedback with us post every-call through the enclosed form, this will enable us to understand your takeaways from the session and key areas you need a focus with an understanding of your feedback on the session and platform glitches if faced any-

Flipped Classroom

Our learners learn by discussing and debating on real-world problems and are actively involved in the solution design process.

Conventional classroom

Sage on Stage

  • A teacher shares the knowledge via live presentations
  • Teachers are at the center of the learning and considered sage on stage
  • Knowledge transfer is one-way and the focus is on knowledge retention
  • Learners don’t get to discuss their ideas or opinions in the class
  • Hence, most learners are unable to apply these concepts in their everyday work life
  • Great for scenarios, where knowledge acquisition and retention is the only focus

Flipped classroom

Guide on side

  • Learners are the center of the universe
  • Classes are meant for healthy discussions and debates on topics
  • Learners go through the material on their own provided by the mentors
  • Mentors work as guide on the side, with the learners
  • Learners develop skills on problem solving, critical thinking and self-learning – the 21st century skills that employers look for
  • Great for scenarios where application skills matter
  • 21st century skills require guide on the side. Simply acquiring knowledge is worthless now.
