UrbanClap is India’s largest home services marketplace. The platform helps customers book
reliable home services – from beauty services to fitness training, appliance repair to house painting, plumbing etc. Since its inception in 2014, UrbanClap has built a network of 50,000+ trained service professionals, and served over 3 million customers across major metropolitan cities of India, Australia and UAE.
UrbanClap aspires to create 1 Million+ service entrepreneurs in India, who deliver extremely high quality and reliable home services to our end customers. We transform an individual service professional (ISP) who is good at his/her craft, but lacks access to the market, into a micro-service entrepreneur, who works as a franchise of UrbanClap. Prior to joining UrbanClap, most of these ISPs earn INR 10-15k per month. They either work full-time for a local store-front business, or as a freelancer, associating themselves with local aggregators and middlemen. Their earnings remain low, given under-utilization, and majority of the margins being eaten up by these middlemen.
The UrbanClap platform enables these ISPs to become micro-entrepreneurs by helping them
in 5 key areas –
- Unlocking market access: Working as an individual franchisee of UC
- Financing Access: Bank accounts, access to loans, insurance etc.
- Tech Led Service Standardization: Fixed pricing, clear deliverables, SOPs, delivery
tracking, payment systems, reviews etc.
- Training: Soft and Core Skills Training– training centers and via the app.
- Consumables Supply Chain: Bulk Procurement of Service Consumables.
This helps ISPs become more organized and multiplies their earnings. E.g. – Our beauticians
typically earn INR 40 to 50k per month with no upper ceiling (Many earn > INR 100k per
month), while in the local salons, they would earn between INR 8 to 15k per month
Scale of Operations
UrbanClap serves approximately 800,000 customers every month, for a variety of their home services needs. It is present in all major metropolitan cities of India and UAE, and has recently also ventured into Australia. Over 20,000 service partners rely on UrbanClap for their earnings and livelihood, with the platform driving either all, or >80% of their business. The platform is growing rapidly, scaling at 3x YoY, supported by a strong balance sheet and a clear path to profitability.

As a Product Manager at Urbanclap, you will play a critical role in every aspect of the product development process – from figuring out the next big innovation that will make our users (customers & professionals) lives easy, to working closely with engineers and designers to implement such features. You are expected to be highly creative, have principled thinking, be extremely data friendly, to not settle, manage work in a fast growing and chaotic environment, have a high design bar and a mentality of starting with the user and working backwards.
Drive product development from small features to entirely new product lines with a team of world-class engineers and designers.
Drive the overall product and feature roadmap, and manage prioritization and trade-offs against user experience.
Write business/product requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business, design and development teams. Establish business metrics and indicators for success. .
Monitor and measure launched products and feed learnings back into product development process.
Along with analytics, spend time with users and conduct user research to understand product gaps and make improvements.
Relevant 1-2 years of experience in Product development or Consulting.
Excellent analytical skills to break down and solve complex problems. Past experience in handling data based and highly analytical problems.
Proven ability to collaborate across teams and lead teams. .
Ability to understand and talk technology; pro activeness in developing an understanding of various applications of technology.
